The History of CPI and Subsidiary Companies

1995 - Finding Technology
Roger Braswell, CPI's founder and CEO, is the "founder" of the compact utility loader industry in the United States, with his introduction of the Dingo Digging System (from Australia) into the U.S.

1997 - Toro, LandCare USA
Roger later sold the Dingo rights to Toro. He also was a co-founder in 1997 of LandCare USA (NYSE - GRW), which became a leading provider of commercial landscape services (and merged with Service Master in 1999).

2000 - PowerHouse Equipment
Roger established PowerHouse Equipment (PHE), which was originally a Toro compact equipment dealer, but which gradually developed its own substantial line of compact hydraulic products.

2003 - Compact Power, Inc.
CPI was created and funded as a new holding company, and acquired certain brands, manufacturing rights and other assets from PHE, Jaden (in Australia) and Mertz Manufacturing. This transaction was funded primarily by Dogwood Equity of NC and St. Cloud Capital Partners of Los Angeles.

2004 - Mertz Manufacturing
CPI acquired 100% of the assets of Mertz Manufacturing, owner of the Boxer brand and a longstanding oilfield equipment manufacturer, with follow-on investments from Dogwood and St. Cloud.

2007 - Compact Power Services
CPI acquired 100% of the assets of DOC Machine Services. DOC, headquartered in Rock Hill, SC has been renamed Compact Power Services, LLC. The company fields approximately 200 mobile technicians and support staff across the United States.
